I once had a teammate do the impossible and in doing so, save our timeline.
No one in wireless believed it could be done!
✨
During a deployment I was hiring for a Site Acq Specialist in TN/KY.
At least half the candidates, unprompted, said the City of Memphis was an impossible jurisdiction.
Months later my project managers were ready to file. We told the customer to "𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟗𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧" 🤕
But the Site Acq Specialist we hired had the magic touch.
✨
𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑘𝑠 𝑎ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑒, she had been building a real, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 with the approver at Memphis.
- She knew his name
- She knew his history
- She knew who else was applying for permits
- She knew what was annoying the approver about those permits 😅
- She knew exactly what he needed to see, and how to get him to see it
The result:
❇ Almost 50 permits pulled with an average 4-day duration
❇ A program record # NTPs issued that month
❇ Our customer outperformed their peers and was recognized for it
All because our teammates--
1) Knew the value of a real, personal relationship built organically over time
2) Looked ahead 3 months to determine what relationships were needed
📍 If your projects are failing, one important question is, "what relationships need investment?"
📍 If your projects are just beginning, consider planning new relationship building like you plan task completions.
